What are Celebration Gatherings?
The early church got together both in public settings and in the homes. Publicly, the church would gather in the temple courts or in Ephesus we saw that Paul met daily with people in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. In any event, as long as the church was not undergoing persecution, she often met in larger groups publicly. We see that in the following scriptures:
- Acts 5:42 "Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ."
- Acts 20:20 "You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house."
- Acts 19:8-10 "But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. 10 This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord."
We will have regularly scheduled Celebration Gatherings with all of our House Gatherings coming together mid-week. The purpose of these gatherings is to share public testimonies on what God has been doing, to worship corporately, to cast vision for outreach and life change, and for teaching. These gatherings will occur in rented facilities.
