The Scriptures

We believe in the divine inspiration, truthfulness and authority of both the Old and New Testament Scriptures. The Bible, in its entirety, is the only written word of God, it is without error in all that it affirms, and it is the only infallible rule of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; John 14:26; Psalm 19:7-9; Psalm 119:30,43,89; Matthew 5:17-18; John 3:34; John 10:35; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; Luke 24:44; 2 Peter 3:15-16; Revelation 22:18-19; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 24:35; Matthew 7:21;24; Luke 1:38; James 1:22-25).

People

We believe in the value and dignity of all people, male and female, because they were created by God in His image and likeness. In Adam's rebellion the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. We, therefore, are totally incapable of remedying our lost condition (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3; Romans 3:22-23 & 5:12; Matthew 19:4-6).

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift from God given to people by grace and received by repentance and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins. We believe that all true believers, once saved, are kept secure forever by the power of God (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; Romans 8:38-39; John 10:27-30; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8; Ephesians 1:13-14 & 2:10; 1 John 1; Hebrews 12:9-11; 1 Peter 1:18-19).

The Church

We believe the Church of Jesus Christ began at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the believers, baptizing them into the Body of Christ. The church consists of the people gathered in the name of Jesus, with Jesus being the Head. The church manifests in local gatherings which are to fulfill the Lord's commands to love God, to love others as ourselves, and to make disciples of all nations (Acts 2; 1 Corinthians 12; 1 Timothy 3:15; Ephesians 2:21; Ephesians 5:25; Colossians 1:24; Matthew 18:20 & 22:37-40 & 28:18-20; Philemon 2).
